prolongation of the interim financial aid

Dear students, 

the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) decided to prolong the interim financial aid until the end of the summer semester 2021 (September, 30th). 

You can apply for the interim financial aid if you are a German or international student enrolled at a public-funded and government-recognised higher education institution in Germany.

  • You must renew your application every month. If you need further assistance submitt your application via the online portal. 
  • If you are asked to hand in further documents, you must upload them to the online portl. Documents which are handed in via mail cannot be taken into account.

Dear students, 

the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is reactivating the interim financial aid for the the winter semester, i.e. the months of November 2020 until end of March 2021, in order to help again those students who are demonstrably in an acute, pandemic-related (economic or financial) emergency and require immediate support.

You can apply for interim financial aid if you are a German or international student enrolled at a public-funded and government-recognised higher education institution in Germany.

Bridging aid (Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)) 

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is helping students who are demonstrably in a financial or economic emergency situation owing to the corona pandemic with allowances totalling 100 million euros. They are paid out via the student service organisations – the Studierenden- or Studentenwerk (STW).

Since 16 June 2020 you can apply for the bridging aid of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for students in financial emergency situations. You can get up to 500,00 per month as a grant. The application is an online application: www.ueberbrueckungshilfe-studierende.de
