Canteen App
The Studierendenwerk Rostock-Wismar has long provided everyone with access to its ‘Mensa Rostock-Wismar’ app, which makes it easy to view the canteen menus.
Do you have a favourite dish? You can note this in the app so that you are notified via push notifications.
Right at the start, you’ll be asked about your preferences and other details that personalise your experience in the app – all without needing to register. Neither your name nor your address is requested.
You can also add allergies or dietary requirements later on. Are you switching to a vegan diet? Then let the app know. The app will then change the colour of the text for meat dishes, so you can see what is no longer suitable for you.
But our app can do even more!
You can already put together your meal plan in the app – choosing what you’d like to eat later – and see straight away how much it will cost. However, ordering still works as usual in the canteen itself – you cannot place an order via the app.
In the app, you can view the nutritional values of the dishes and let us know how you liked the meal or whether you thought the price was reasonable. All you need to do is send us some feedback on the meal.
If you have a canteen card, you can check your balance using the app. To do this, simply enable NFC on your smartphone and click on ‘Canteen Card’ in the app via your general profile picture. Finally, hold the card up to your smartphone and you’ll see your balance and the cost of your last purchase.
