Special Information for moving out during Corona

Special rules for moving out:

We carry out pre-checks of the rooms. Please use this opportunity for a pre-check of your room! On the day you move out, drop the key for your room/apartment in the corresponding letterbox or the caretaker's letterbox by 10 a.m. on the last working day of your rental period. Working days are all days from Monday to Friday. The caretaker will then carry out the room inspection without you being present and check whether all the points on our checklist for moving out have been completed. Please note: the person who moves out is also responsible for cleaning the common rooms (bathroom, hall, kitchen). Talk to your roommates and ask for support. During the rental period you are all responsible for cleaning! Please remember the following points:

Checklist move out

Room

• remove nails, screws, glue strips etc. from walls; fill and close all dowel drills
• soiled walls have to be rewhitened PROFESSIONALLY (without stains or shades – otherwise: paint twice!) Please note that all walls have to be cleaned up to the ceiling – otherwise it will be done by a painter, who will make you pay at least 115,00 €, depending on the “Leistungskatalog”. All walls have to be dry when moving out
• clean the windows, blinds and window benches
• clean the furniture and doors wet (also inside and on top of the cupboards)
• wipe bed frame and bedding box
• hoover your mattress
• clean the floor (mop linolium floors)
• mop baseboard
• clean the lamps and replace broken light bulbs
• reassemble the bed and tighten the bolts

Bathroom

• clean the shower (also interspaces and shower enclosure), toilet, washbasin and taps thoroughly (shiny!)
• clean the window and mirror
• buy a new toilet brush
• wipe the floor wet
• replace broken light bulbs

Kitchen

• clean hotplate and baking oven well (otherwise: incidental expenses will cost at least 76,00 €)
• clean the fridge, remove your food, defrost the freezer
• decalcify and clean the sink and work surfaces
• wipe the tiles wet
• wipe the floor wet
• renew broken lightbulbs
• clean the table, chairs and wall cupboards from inside, on top and underneath
• clean windows, blinds and window benches
• if existing: clean additional shelfs and storage spaces

Corridor

• wipe the floor wet and clean baseboards
• renew broken light bulbs
• clean dirty walls, when indicated paint them

! RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MAINTENACE AND CLEANING OF THE KITCHEN, BATHROOM, CORRIDOR AND BALCONY IN A SHARED FLAT IS ALWAYS THE ONE WHO IS MOVING OUT! THE RESPONSIBLE PERSON SHOULD ASK FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE ROOMMATES.
